Beet - Lutz Green Leaf Winterkeeper
Beta vulgaris. A long-time favorite, cold-hardy storage beet with large, round roots that remain sweet and tender up to 6" wide. Tops are also large and strong enough for bunching in summer. If you can keep the rodents away and mulch heavily enough to prevent roots from freezing, these are reportedly one of the best for storing in-ground over winter (plant in mid-July). A great variety for micro-greens and baby greens for salad mixes.
