Coreopsis tinctoria. Annual wildflower native to the US Midwest, coreopsis is a favorite with butterflies and makes a great border plant. Grows to 30" tall in dense stands, covered with 1 1/2" blooms with two-toned red and yellow flowers. Can tolerate poor soil and is drought-tolerant. Will self-sow in the right conditions. The smell of the dried nectar when threshing the seed is unbelievably good. Grown organically but not certified.
