C. pepo. Delicata is commonly a "gateway" squash, in that it is almost universally loved and is a perfect size for two people or two meals. A perfect winter squash for short seasons, delicata ripens early. This darker-skinned variety has a richer flavor and maple-like sweetness. Honeyboat was developed by Dr. James Baggett at Oregon State University. Grown organically but not certified.
