A hungarian heirloom, these are sturdy, 5-6' tall plants with large, mostly single heads. The large, black, flavorful seed is great for sprouting, eating raw, or pressed for oil (see piteba.com for a home-scale oil press). This variety was collected by Adaptive Seeds on their first Seed Ambassadors trip, from Martin Ringhoffer, who grows this Hungarian heirloom on his farm in Hungary.
