Calendula officinalis
An exceptionally easy-to-grow annual flower that self-seeds readily.  40 to 50 days to maturity.  Calendula flowers are a common medicinal ingredient in many herbal remedies, the flowers are deliciously edible, and they attract bees and other beneficial insects.  Sow the seed directly in the garden in the spring, with plants spaced 6 inches apart.  This strain produces very pretty, predominantly orange flowers.
